This is a very simple way to get started in the affiliate marketing world which is pretty cheap and will not cost you a lot but the returns can be amazing if done properly. You won’t need costly websites for this system.
First thing you need to do is set up a Twitter account, if you already have one then that is brilliant. Spend some time searching for people with similar interests as you and ‘follow’ them. They will hopefully ‘follow’ you back. It won’t hurt to send them a quick personal message introducing yourself and asking them if they will follow you. Build up a large list of followers, this is a numbers game. The more ‘followers’ you have the more potential buyers you will have.
Keep posting ‘Tweets’ several times a day, it really won’t take you too long as a ‘Tweet’ is only 140 characters long. It can be anything as long as it isn’t moaning, whining or any form of negativity as that will only drive people away. Try to be positive, informative, fun, share good quotations or direct people to articles and videos you think your followers will enjoy.
Once you have built up a large list of followers, the next step is to head over to ClickBank.com and set up a free account. ClickBank.com is a place where you can find thousands of digital and downloadable products that you can sell on behalf of the owner and get paid a huge commission for doing so. Commissions as much as 70%! When you choose your product to promote you will be given a link that is assigned to you only. Whenever anyone buys through that link it will be recorded and you will get the commission.
The links are usually very long, too long for Twitter and also they look nasty, people can see they are affiliate links. They can be shortened at great free online places like www.bit.ly. It shortens them without losing your original affiliate data.
You can now place these links into your Tweets and if anyone buys the product after clicking on the link you will be credited for the sale, however, we want to use Aweber.com to collect emails and build an email list. It is said that the money is in the list. If you promote products in a certain niche for example ‘sea fishing’, you can build a list of ‘buyers’ to which you can send them emails with other ‘sea fishing’ affiliate products that they may buy giving you further commissions.
The only cost to this system is the cost of having an account with Aweber.com. Aweber.com does a $1 trial for the first month. You do not need an Aweber.com account to make money on Twitter but it will help you make more by building an email list that you can promote more affiliate products to.
What you will need is a webform to collect name and email details. For this head over to aweber.com. There is a great easy to use webform generator. You will find many easy to follow video tutorials to help you if you get stuck. I recommend building a webform using part of the headline from the product you are promoting. You will paste in your affiliate product link into the webform settings that will send your customer to your affiliate products sale page once they have entered their name and email details.
Normally you would save the webform and place it onto your own website or blog using the Javascript you can get from Aweber. This time to keep costs down and save on building different websites, there is an option within Aweber that allows you to host your webform with Aweber.
You will be given a link that will direct your potential customer to the webform that Aweber will host for you. This is the link that you will shorten then place into your Twitter post along with some teaser copy again taken from the products salespage. It can take as little as 30 minutes to set once system up, the amount of systems you make is up to you. How many can you do in a day? Or a week?
